Position Title: Communications Manager

Job or Opportunity Description:
Arts Habitat Edmonton is seeking expressions of interest for our website redevelopment project that we aim to start in May 2026.

Project Outline

Objectives

  • Create a visually compelling and intuitive website experience utilizing the Arts Habitat Edmonton identity

  • Create a standard template on a reliable web platform so that it can be edited and managed in-house

  • Prioritize navigation and access to key information

  • Ensure full mobile responsiveness and accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher)

  • Strengthen content structure and storytelling

  • Enable easy internal content management (CMS) and workflows

  • Support integration with key platforms (e.g. events, newsletters, social media)

  • Support integration with Archie Space Management Software (e.g. hyperlinked pages)

  • Consultation and guidance regarding web security languages (PHP, SSL Certificate, etc…)

Scope

You will be expected to:

  • Migrate and/or refine provided planned content and wireframe to maximize user experience (UX)

  • Develop site architecture and wireframes

  • Design and build the planned 26 webpages for the website (front-end and back-end)

  • Ensure SEO best practices are implemented

  • Provide training and documentation for staff

  • Offer post-launch support and maintenance options

  • Implementation of tracking tools

Timeline

  • Application deadline: April 27, 2026

  • Shortlisting & interviews: April 28 – May 1, 2026

  • Project start: May 6, 2026

  • Anticipated launch: June 8, 2026
