Job Title: Junior Exhibit/Graphic Designer

Job or Opportunity Description: EXHIBIT STUDIO is looking for a Junior Exhibit/Graphic Designer to join our team and work on projects across various industries - Trade show exhibits, museum/interpretive centres, experiential activations, retail, non-profit, corporate and more.

Our company offers full-360 services (design/fab/install), and we are looking for someone who is creative, energetic, hands-on and enthusiastic about working within a collaborative work environment. You will work closely with our design and fabrication teams, communicating your ideas to create a holistic, branded experience that integrates physical, graphic and digital elements. We want someone who is highly motivated, with innovative and functional design ideas, and adaptable to our different clients, their brand and their customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Full-Time, 40hr work week, paid hourly.
Review project details and client requirements provided by the Art Director/Project Manager.
Develop concept sketches and graphic layouts, and communicate ideas with the Art Director and Design Team.
Develop concept packages and/or provide assets/templates to communicate design ideas to the Client.
Liaise with the Client's point of contact to gather feedback and clarify design specifications.
Collect existing client marketing collateral, artwork, and photographs for use in print graphics.
Edit graphics based on the Art Director, Client, and Graphic Print Team feedback.
Search for royalty-free and licensed stock photos and digital artworks for project use.
Inform Project Manager of completed tasks and communicate with the team of any changes.
Assist our Industrial Designers by providing visual graphics/assets to develop 3D renderings.
Prepare and send print-ready production design files to internal and external print and CNC team(s) for production.
Work alongside the Sales and Marketing Teams to assist with developing internal branding, sales and marketing assets.

SKILLS

1-3 years experience and at minimum a B.Des or B.A. Degree, preferably in Graphic Design / Visual Communications. Will consider an introductory internship.
Ideation and sketching capabilities, with contemporary aesthetic and storytelling skills.
Passionate about innovative ideas, willing to learn fabrication and design techniques.
Ability to work both independently and collaborate with other team members.
Desire to bring forth and explore new ideas in a collaborative setting.
Desire to develop design skills. Learning new tools, techniques and abilities.
Willing to take constructive criticism from Clients and the Design Team to further develop design ideas and skillsets.
Able to use various communication software (Google Meets, Zoom, Teams, etc.)
Able to learn project management software to update task/project status (google chat, monday.com)
Well-versed in Adobe CS (Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop).
Proven ability to produce high-quality, detailed work within tight timelines.
Good organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and requests and meet deadlines in a professional manner.
Strong spatial visualization and orthographic skills to understand and layout display graphics.
Good listening skills to understand client requirements and marketing campaign desires.
Must possess a professional and positive attitude.
